90 Tons of Thunder is the first Lethal X album, built around two men from Racer X: singer Jeff Martin and Harry Gschoesser, who drummed on Street Lethal. Milan Polak plays guitar and Mike Szuter, recommended by Mike Varney of Shrapnel Records, plays bass; Szuter had been in the Szuters, a band Paul Gilbert produced. Gilbert himself, busy with the last Mr. Big album and its farewell tour, guests on three songs, and Billy Sheehan turns up on "Chasing the Flaw". Metallic Blue Records released it on 17 January 2025; Marquee got the Japanese CD (MICP-11931) out two days earlier, on 15 January, with a commentary booklet, translated lyrics and a twelfth track exclusive to this pressing, a reading of David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" with Gilbert on it. There is an official video, a lyric video and three album tracks posted by the label.
