Mechanical Era took a long road out of Switzerland. Cédric Ferret started Lethal Technology in Colombier in July 2017 as a two-man project with bassist Julien Dulex; growler Jade Hdnni, lyrical vocalist Sofiane Thoulon and lead guitarist Xavier Boscher joined to make it a six-piece, and the album appeared at the end of 2022 as a Swiss-only release. Wormholedeath signed the band worldwide in 2024 and put it out again on 2 August that year, and the Japanese edition — a direct import in a digipak with Japanese packaging (BITX-1359) — followed on 28 February 2025. What they play is progressive death metal with male and female vocals set against each other, brutal one moment and soprano the next, with programmed and digital textures pushing it towards industrial. Ten tracks, fifty-three minutes, four of them with videos.
