Tattoo Me is the first covers album Lee Aaron has made, some forty years into a career in which she and Doro Pesch between them established what a woman fronting hard rock and heavy metal could be. She had singing lessons from the age of five, signed to Attic Records — Anvil's label at home in Canada — and 1984's Metal Queen gave her the title she has been known by since. Call Of The Wild followed in 1985 and Lee Aaron in 1987; Bodyrock went double platinum in Canada in 1989, and she toured Japan in 1990. The eleven songs here cross decades and styles — Led Zeppelin's "What Is And What Should Never Be", Alice Cooper's "Is It My Body", Heart's "Even It Up", Elton John's "Someone Saved My Life Tonight", Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" — all of them rebuilt around her voice. Metalville and Ward Records in Japan released it on the same day, 26 April 2024, the Japanese edition as GQCS-91458. Eleven tracks, about forty-four minutes.
