From Hell I Rise is the first album Kerry King has released under his own name, after forty years of driving thrash metal as the guitarist in Slayer. The band he assembled for it is a thrash summit in itself: Mark Osegueda of Death Angel sings, Phil Demmel of Machine Head and Vio-lence plays guitar, Kyle Sanders of Hellyeah plays bass, and Paul Bostaph — King's bandmate in Slayer — is on drums. What comes out is exactly what the line-up promises, fast and loud and unreconstructed, with Osegueda pitching his delivery close enough to Tom Araya to be part of the point. Reigning Phoenix Music and Ward Records in Japan released it on the same day, 17 May 2024, the Japanese edition as GQCS-91465. Thirteen tracks, about forty-seven minutes.
