2023 A.D. is an all-instrumental guitar album by Jeff Kollman, the American guitarist, and his first solo record in about three years. He has led the progressive metal band Cosmosquad for years, has backed a long list of Japanese artists, and turns up regularly in the readers' guitar polls of the Japanese music press. Here he plays bass and handles the programming as well as the guitars, with Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Shane Gaalaas on drums and Jimmy Johnson on bass joining him track by track. Deko Entertainment released it on 17 May 2024; King Records had the Japanese edition, KICP-4066, in shops more than a month earlier, on 3 April, on high-quality Blu-spec CD2 and with two extra songs — fourteen tracks, about fifty-seven minutes.
