Insania, the power metal band from Stockholm, took four years over The Great Apocalypse. Frontiers Records put it out on 13 June 2025 and Marquee Inc. followed in Japan on the 18th as MICP-11947, with liner notes, translated lyrics and one bonus track. Drummer Mikko Korsbäck and guitarist Henrik Juhano started the band in 1992 playing Helloween and Iron Maiden covers; original material began once guitarist Niklas Dahlin joined, and the debut World of Ice arrived in 1999. Helloween, Gamma Ray and Blind Guardian are audible in what they do, as is Stratovarius from across the water in Finland. Dimitri Keiski left after the previous record, leaving Ola Halén to sing alone alongside Dahlin, bassist Erik Alkå and Korsbäck — and with a little of the German accent gone, the album sounds more like Insania's own brand of driving, large-scale power metal.
