Tides is the third Horizon Ignited album, following After the Storm in 2019 and Towards the Dying Lands, which Nuclear Blast released in 2022; this one comes out on Reaper Entertainment. The Finnish band formed in 2017 and write melodic death metal with the melody pushed wide open over a low, heavy bottom end, the vocals moving between growls, clean singing and screams across ten tracks and forty-one minutes. "My Grave Shall Be The Sea" is subtitled "Leviathan pt. II" and picks up an earlier thread; Jaakko Mäntymaa guests on "Ashes". The record came out worldwide on 21 February 2025, with Ward Records issuing the Japanese CD (GQCS-91565) the same day with a commentary booklet and translated lyrics. Four of the ten songs have official music videos.
