Himmelkraft

Himmelkraft is the debut album by Himmelkraft, the band newly started by Tony Kakko, the frontman of Sonata Arctica. Its premise is that a fictional band made of fictional characters is playing a fictional mythology, and to keep that intact nobody involved is named except Kakko. He had meant to withhold his own name as well; management pointed out that there would then be nothing to promote it with, and he agreed to disclose his part alone. The music is symphonic and large in scale, built on heavy songs carrying a great deal of synthesizer, and Kakko sings it as the story's narrator. Ward Records issued it in Japan on 1 March 2024. Twelve tracks, about fifty-seven minutes.
