Hessian's self-titled EP was released through Wormholedeath on 20 June 2025, and Wormholedeath Japan's CD with Japanese specifications (BITX1414) followed on 29 December 2025, six songs in about 19 minutes. According to Metal Noise, the Atlanta, Georgia black metal band goes back to 2002, when founder Laremy Wade started it as an instrumental project with two guitars and drums, no bass and no vocals, taking Mayhem, Emperor and Sarcófago as his main influences; it was only in 2024, with vocalist Brandon Floyd on board and with Adam Dickerson on drums and Nathan Gombert as second guitarist, that an early demo was reworked into this release. Wade told the site that the EP has no bass guitar at all, just rhythm guitar, vocals and drums, with a single solo in the opening track. The Japanese distributor's profile adds that the band runs its own label, Southern Soundclash Records & Distro, and Wormholedeath promoted the EP with a teaser.
