Ivory Tower is an album by Hämärä, a melodic metal band formed in Castle Rock, Colorado in 2006 -- the name is Finnish, the band is American, and both Nordic melodic metal and American metal are audible in what they write. The original line-up was Aaron Schug on guitar and vocals, Joshua Ruff on bass and lead vocals, Luke Ruff on drums, Tony Molieri on synths and keyboards and Kent Johnson on guitar. A first album followed in 2007; after several line-up changes they stopped in 2015, started again in 2020, finished this record in 2022 and signed worldwide to Wormholedeath Records that December. It joins Nordic melodic death metal to symphonic metal, moving between growls and an open clean voice, with choirs placed through it for the drama. WormHoleDeath Japan released the Japanese-packaged import on 30 November 2023 as BITX-1285, after the original of 21 April. Nine tracks, about thirty-five minutes.
