Anatomy of Darkness is the second Haliphron album, and the Dutch band put a female voice at the front of a symphonic death metal sound that leans hard on the thrash and death records of the 1990s. They formed only in 2021, but the players came out of Izegrim and Bleeding Gods, and the debut Prey arrived on Listenable Records in 2023. The lyrics here return again and again to addiction, which makes this something close to a concept record, and Andy Classen, once of Holy Moses, mixed it. Nine songs, thirty-eight minutes, no detours. Listenable released it on 25 October 2024; Ward Records issued the Japanese CD (GQCS-91549) on 10 January 2025 with a commentary booklet and translated lyrics. Two songs have official videos.
