Sunraven is the tenth album by Grand Magus, the Swedish heavy metal trio who began as Smack in 1996 and took their present name in 1999, and their first in five years since Wolf God (2019). They released a split EP with Spiritual Beggars in 2001 and their self-titled debut on Lee Dorrian's Rise Above Records the same year; from 2002 Janne 'JB' Christoffersson also sang in Spiritual Beggars, which carried the Grand Magus name further. Monument (2003), Wolf's Return (2005) and Iron Will (2008) followed on Rise Above, then Hammer of the North (2010) for Roadrunner, and four albums for Nuclear Blast from The Hunt (2012) to Wolf God. This one is their first concept album, drawn from the epic poem Beowulf, played by Christoffersson on vocals and guitar, Mats 'Fox' Skinner on bass and Ludwig on drums. It came out worldwide on 18 October 2024, with Ward Records issuing the Japanese edition, GQCS-91520. Nine tracks.
