Skeletá opens a new chapter for Ghost, three years after IMPERA. Tobias Forge's Swedish band, known as much for its occult characters and theatrical staging as for its songs, had turned that previous record into a worldwide success, with "Call Me Little Sunshine" nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 65th Grammy Awards. Across their career they have gathered close to ten billion streams and five Grammy nominations, winning Best Metal Performance for "Cirice" in 2016, an RIAA-certified platinum single with "Mary on a Cross", and both an American Music Award and an iHeartRadio Music Award in the rock album category for IMPERA. "Satanized" led the album out. Loma Vista Recordings released it abroad; Universal Music Japan issued the Japanese SHM-CD (UICB-10018) on 25 April 2025 with translated lyrics and a commentary booklet. Ten tracks.
