Mon Odyssée is the first full-length album by FrazyL, a Canadian one-man progressive instrumental rock project. Jérôme R. Desrosiers drummed in a number of black and death metal bands and made several records with them; hearing Burzum, Mortiis and Wongraven in the late 1990s set him writing music of his own, and he took to old analogue synthesizers, building pieces out of classical music and film scores. In 2009 he left the bands he was in to concentrate on his own work and released a gothic metal album, Emergence, under the name Vril-Ya; he became FrazyL in 2018. Italian radio play in 2021 led to a worldwide deal with Epictronic Records and, eventually, to this record: a concept album drawn from Homer's Odyssey, dark and ambient, made from acoustic piano, strings and analogue synthesizers. Epictronic Japan released the Japanese-packaged import on 31 October 2023 as BITX-1280, after the original of 21 January 2022. Eight tracks, about an hour.
