The Accidental is a new solo album from Status Quo singer and guitarist Francis Rossi. Ward Records presents it as an electric, stage-minded record, unlike the acoustic, introspective feel of his earlier solo work; Quo bandmates John "Rhino" Edwards and Leon Cave play bass and drums, and Hiran Ilangantilike, who co-wrote "Push Comes To Shove" and "November Again" with Rossi, is among the guitarists. Those two songs came out together as the album's second single on 7 January 2026, with a short teaser on Status Quo's channel, and both can be heard on YouTube as audio supplied by Ward Records. earMUSIC released the album on 30 January 2026, and Ward Records' Japanese CD (GQCS-91737), 14 tracks with translated lyrics and Japanese liner notes, followed on 20 March. Status Quo, formed in the late 1960s, are the British band behind "Down Down", "Whatever You Want", "Pictures of Matchstick Men" and "Rockin' All Over The World".
