I Am the Weapon is an album by Flotsam and Jetsam, the thrash metal band from Arizona who debuted in 1986 with Doomsday for the Deceiver, and their first in about three years since Blood in the Water. Bassist Jason Newsted, who would later join Metallica, was in the band when that debut came out, and they have kept a following in Japan ever since, including appearances at Thrash Domination. This record pushes further in the direction that won praise for its predecessor — crunching thrash metal with power metal in it — and the riffing is direct in a way that recalls their early records. AFM Records released it on 13 September 2024 and King Records issued the Japanese edition, a limited pressing numbered KICP-94081, on 23 October. Eleven tracks.
