Flamecore

Wormholedeath Japan issue the debut album by the Greek melodic death metal quintet Flamecore on 30 June 2026, a direct import with Japanese packaging, catalogue number BITX-1465. It went out independently in February 2025, and the Italian label Wormholedeath released it internationally on 24 October 2025. The band began between Chania and Athens as a pair, guitarist Stathis Lianos and drummer Leonidas Viglakis, who worked up "Planes of Nameck" and "Only Waste Remains" before Panagiotis Tsopelas took a second guitar and Akis Mplazakis the vocals. Bassist Panagiotis Mousouras is a later recruit, taken on once the album was finished. Both cities served as studios: Viglakis cut the drums and vocals in Chania, Lianos the guitars and bass in Athens, and John Mor mixed and mastered the results at Apex Soundworks. Wormholedeath name In Flames, Slipknot and Gojira as the band's touchstones, and point to harmonised lead lines, continuous double-kick work and a vocal that moves between growling and screaming. Three songs have videos: "Planes of Nameck" and "Only Waste Remains" on the band's channel, "Projected Reality" as a lyric video on the label's. Eight songs, nothing added for Japan.
