Red Asphalt

The Japanese edition of the new album by Exhumed, the gore / death-grind band formed in San Jose, California in 1990. Relapse Records released it internationally on 20 February 2026; DIW on METAL issued the Japanese edition on 25 March 2026 as DYMC-6100, adding four bonus tracks billed as their first physical release anywhere for a total of fourteen. Those four — "Lysergicide", "Septic Five", "Rapid Unplanned Disassembly" and "Sick at Heart" — match the four new songs, in the same order, from Beyond the Dead, the digital EP put out on Bandcamp in August 2023. Relapse's own store describes an album about American roads: horrific traffic accidents, murder by car, defective vehicles. It is their first in about four years, after To the Dead in 2022. Sebastian Phillips produced it with the band, Scott Evans mixed at Antisleep Audio and Leon del Muerte mastered at Beastman Audio; Ross Sewage did the cover and photography and Jacob Speis the layout. The current line-up is Matt Harvey on vocals and guitar, Ross Sewage on vocals and bass, Mike Hamilton on drums and Sebastian Phillips on guitar. Videos for "Unsafe at Any Speed", "Shovelhead" and "The Iron Graveyard" preceded the release.
