Defectum Omnium is the fourth album by Exhorder, the thrash metal band formed in New Orleans in 1985 that left Slaughter in the Vatican in 1990 and The Law in 1992 before disappearing. Whether Pantera built on them has been argued over in metal for decades; the band themselves shrug it off, saying the influence is real and the resemblance may be too, but that Pantera worked harder and that is why Pantera succeeded. They startled everyone in 2019 with Mourn the Southern Skies, twenty-seven years after the last one, and this follows five years on: more thrash in it, more punk in it, and a rougher edge than its predecessor. Pat O'Brien, formerly of Cannibal Corpse, plays lead guitar, and Jens Bogren produced. Ward Records issued the Japanese edition on 8 March 2024. Twelve tracks, about fifty-four minutes.
