Evocatus released Inevitable Death through Wormholedeath on 29 August 2025, and Wormholedeath Japan's CD with Japanese specifications (BITX1413) followed on 29 December 2025, ten songs in about 51 minutes. The five-piece melodic death metal band from Australia's Hunter Valley worked again with producer Ryan Huthnance at Emissary Studios, and the single credits also name him for the mixing and mastering; the band's own notes describe melodic death metal and thrash with orchestral and folk touches, a story widened from 2020's Path to Tartarus with tales of fate, war and myth, and an album five years in the making. Wormholedeath names Kreator, Amon Amarth and Machine Head as influences and presents "In Graves Unknown" as a nod to ancient Rome, while the Japanese distributor lists the record as the band's third album. All four singles have videos: a lyric video for "In Graves Unknown" and official videos for "To Live by the Sword", "Serpent of Chaos" and the title track "Devoted to Inevitable Death".
