LINER NOTES
The Water Taste Of Blood is the fifth studio album by ELEINE, the Swedish band built around singer Madeleine Liljestam and guitarist and vocalist Rikard Ekberg since 2014, and it is on the band's own label, Algoth Records, distributed by Sound Pollution, with a release date of 4 December 2026. Earlier albums include Until The End (2018), Dancing In Hell (2020) and We Shall Remain (2023), and the band have shared stages with Arch Enemy, Kamelot, Sonata Arctica and W.A.S.P.
The band sum up its theme as "Lies, betrayal and loneliness" and the strength to rise again after them, and call it their heaviest record yet. Five songs came out ahead of it with videos or visualizers: "Empire Of Lies" in May 2026, then "We March", "Watch As We Rise", "Liars Linger" and, in October, "Ich Sehe Dich". The closing "We Stand United" shares its title with the band's 2025 EP. In Japan the import carries Bickee Music's number BKMY-1155 and the date 18 December 2026, with an obi, Japanese notes and an interview announced. The international formats are CD in a jewel case or a digipak, a gatefold double LP in red or black, and cassette.
