Invincible is the first album in eight years by Demon, one of the bands that defined the new wave of British heavy metal. Their name and artwork put forward an occult, evil image descended straight from Black Sabbath while the music is closer to catchy, and that gap has always been the point of them; their 1981 debut Night of the Demon and 1982's The Unexpected Guest are still held up as NWOBHM landmarks. Dave Hill, the original singer, says this record took its inspiration from horror films, and it brings back the early flavour — faintly dark, catchy, a little progressive. Frontiers released it on 17 May 2024; Ward Records issued the Japanese CD on 26 July as GQCS-91483, with an acoustic version of "Forever Seventeen" added as a Japan-only bonus track for thirteen in all.
