LINER NOTES
Frozen Silhouettes 2006-2009 is a three-CD box set from HNE Recordings, part of Cherry Red, that gathers DELAIN's first two albums, with a release date of 13 November 2026 (QHNE3CD256, in a clamshell box). Disc one is the 2006 debut Lucidity, issued by Roadrunner Records that September, with "(Deep) Frozen", the twelfth track of the original CD; disc two is April Rain from March 2009, followed by live versions of "Silhouette Of A Dancer", "Shattered" and "Pristine" and a "Medley", the same four titles that close Lucidity's 10th anniversary edition of 2016; disc three holds instrumental versions of all eleven Lucidity songs, for thirty-eight tracks in all. Charlotte Wessels sang on Lucidity, with Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation, Marko Hietala of Nightwish and Liv Kristine of Leaves' Eyes among the guests, and most of the songs came from Martijn Westerholt, once Within Temptation's keyboard player; Delain started out as a way to record his writing. Once the album found an audience, a live band formed around it (guitarist Ronald Landa, bassist Rob van der Loo, drummer Sander Zoer), and those players made April Rain. Lucidity's singles were "Frozen", "See Me in Shadow", "Shattered" and "The Gathering"; April Rain's were the title track, "Stay Forever" and "Nothing Left". In Japan, Solid / Cherry Red's import for Japanese distribution with an obi (CDSOL-72994) has a release date of 18 November 2026.
