Velvet Incandescence is the second Dawn of Ouroboros album, out on Prosthetic Records on 21 April 2023 and given its first Japanese pressing by SPIRITUAL BEAST (IUCP-16374) on 19 March 2025, weeks before the same label issued their third. It is the record that leads to Bioluminescence: progressive post-black and death metal with shoegaze and jazz worked into it, the arrangements turning on the distance between Chelsea Murphy's clean and harsh voices. The Japanese edition carries a commentary booklet and translated lyrics and adds two live recordings — "Rise from Disillusion" from Skyway Theatre and "Velvet Moon" from Thee Parkside — as bonus tracks, for ten in all. Four songs have official videos.
