Bioluminescence is the third Dawn of Ouroboros album and the first of theirs to be pressed in Japan. The four-piece from Oakland, California formed in 2018 and play progressive post-black and death metal in which Chelsea Murphy's voice moves from jazz-inflected singing to outright screaming, often inside a single song, with quiet passages and blistering ones set against each other. Prosthetic Records released it on 7 March 2025 and SPIRITUAL BEAST issued the Japanese CD (IUCP-16373) the same day, with a commentary booklet and translated lyrics, adding demo versions of "Bioluminescence" and "Dueling Sunsets" as Japanese bonus tracks for ten tracks in all. Four songs have official videos.
