The Deceivers is the album that brought Dååth back. The Atlanta band had not released one since The Concealers in 2009, and Eyal Levi describes the title as a continuation of the theme he began with 2007's The Hinderers: not a look inward at self-deception, he says, but a hard look at the people who get in your way, and at the deceiving and manipulating they do it with. The guest list is unusually deep even for a record built on guitar playing — Dan Sugarman of Ice Nine Kills, Dean Lamb of Archspire, Per Nilsson of Scar Symmetry, Mark Holcomb of Periphery, the game composer Mick Gordon and Jeff Loomis all take solos. Metal Blade Records released it on 3 May 2024 and it circulates in Japan as an import. Nine tracks, about forty-four minutes.
