LINER NOTES
Uroboric Forms (The Complete Demo Recordings 1988-1989-1990-1991) gathers the demos the American band CYNIC made before their 1993 debut album Focus. The compilation first came out on Century Media on 10 February 2017; Season of Mist reissued it on vinyl in 2023, and Dusktone on CD in a digipak in 2026.
The demos run newest first: tracks 1-3 are the 1991 demo ("Uroboric Forms" and "The Eagle Nature" were later recorded for Focus), 4-6 the 1990 demo, 7-10 Reflections Of A Dying World from 1989 and 11-13 the first demo of 1988, and the last two are alternative versions from a 1991 vocal audition sung by Brian DeNeffe. Paul Masvidal and Sean Reinert recorded the 1988 demo on a boom box while they were high school classmates, and the 1991 demo is the one that won the band its deal with Roadrunner Records. Marquee's Japanese CD (MICP-12055) has a release date of 6 January 2027.
