Crobot's Obsidian is a hard rock album from the Pennsylvania band, self-produced and finished at The Machine Shop in Austin, Texas, where Alberto De Icaza engineered, mixed and mastered it. The songs set ancient myth against private struggle, and the band's main writers step away from the deliberately oblique lyrics of earlier records towards growth, conflict and self-examination. Guitarist Chris Bishop has called the album something like a rebirth in their career, made with a different approach to writing and recording than they had used before. Megaforce released it on 13 September 2024; it reached Japan on 2 October as an import prepared for Japanese distribution, CRBTOBSCDJ1. Eleven tracks, with an official music video for the title song and a visualizer for Come Down.
