Whispers of War is the first Crimson Shadows album in eleven years. Marquee released the Japanese edition, MICP-11972, on 23 July 2025, two days ahead of the band's own international release on 25 July; the Japanese pressing carries notes, translated lyrics and a bonus track, "Echoes Of The Stolen Earth", after the nine songs. Video credits give the Toronto band as Jimi Maltais on harsh vocals, Greg Rounding on clean vocals and guitar, Ryan Hofing on guitar, Cory Hofing on drums and Alex Snape on bass, with Christian Donaldson mixing and mastering. What the Japanese label singles out is the two-voice front line — growls and clean singing together, death metal and melody meshed in the same songs. The video for the title track was filmed at the Hyperspace Metal Festival in Vancouver. Streaming credits add Matt McGachy as a guest on the title track and Brittney Slayes on "Secrets Of Our Time".
