The Screaming of the Valkyries keeps Cradle of Filth where they have been for more than thirty years: extreme metal with gothic and symphonic weight behind it, Dani Filth's shriek set against a female voice, orchestration laid thickly under nine tracks that move between speed and grandeur. The band formed in Suffolk in 1991. Napalm Records released the album on 21 March 2025, and Ward Records issued the Japanese CD (GQCS-91578) the same day with translated lyrics and a commentary booklet. The three songs released ahead of it — "Malignant Perfection", "Demagoguery" and "White Hellebore" — all have official videos.
