Nordic Gothic is the debut album by Cemetery Skyline, a band five long-serving Nordic metal musicians put together in 2020 with the idea of making dark music that would not be tied to a period, in tribute to the records that shaped their own generation. The line-up is Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity on vocals, Markus Vanhala of Insomnium on guitar, Santeri Kallio of Amorphis on keyboards, Victor Brandt of Dimmu Borgir on bass and Vesa Ranta, formerly of Sentenced, on drums. For all that death metal history, the album is gothic rock: Stanne sings clean throughout and melancholy melody carries the writing. Century Media released it worldwide on 11 October 2024 and Sony Music Labels issued the Japanese edition, SICP-6590, the same day, adding the bonus track Dream Delusion for eleven tracks in all, with Japanese liner notes and translated lyrics.
