Category 7 is the self-titled debut by a band named after the designation for the most violent windstorms, and made up of John Bush on vocals (Armored Saint, Anthrax), Phil Demmel on guitar (Machine Head, Vio-Lence, Kerry King), Mike Orlando on guitar (Adrenaline Mob, Sonic Universe, Noturnall), Jack Gibson on bass (Exodus) and Jason Bittner on drums (Shadows Fall, Overkill).

Category 7 is the self-titled debut by a band named after the designation for the most violent windstorms, and made up of John Bush on vocals (Armored Saint, Anthrax), Phil Demmel on guitar (Machine Head, Vio-Lence, Kerry King), Mike Orlando on guitar (Adrenaline Mob, Sonic Universe, Noturnall), Jack Gibson on bass (Exodus) and Jason Bittner on drums (Shadows Fall, Overkill). Those histories invite the word supergroup, but Demmel says he feels this is a band rather than a side project, that they have written an incredible piece of music and that they are not done. The album mixes NWOBHM, thrash, punk-metal and traditional metal under Bush's instantly recognisable voice, and the range of it invites headbanging, moshing and singing along in equal measure. Metal Blade Records released it on 26 July 2024 as an import; no Japanese edition was pressed. Ten tracks.
