Tragédie d'Amour is the second album by Carmeria, a power metal band formed in Sydney in 2012, and their first release in Japan. Ward Records trace the group from the 2013 EP Awakening and a run of singles through a change of line-up in 2018 that set them properly in motion, to their album debut Advenae in 2021 and touring that built their name at home. This album followed on 23 August 2024. Symphonic arrangement is woven together with the darker pull of gothic rock, the singing moving between clean lines and growls, and the result matches the melancholy the title promises. Jordan Von Grae sings, with Jerry Zahia on guitar, Mishka Bobrov on keyboards, Emma Louise Nagy on bass and Lachlan Blackwood on drums. Ward Records' Japanese CD (GQCS-91611), out on 9 May 2025, adds translated lyrics, a Japanese essay and the exclusive bonus track "Lost in the Snow" for eleven in all. Three songs have official videos.
