Inquisition

Inquisition is the sixth Burning Witches album. Marquee Avalon put the Japanese edition out first, on 20 August 2025 as MICP-11954, with notes, lyrics and translations across twelve tracks and about 48 minutes; Napalm Records released it internationally two days later. The Swiss band arrived in 2017 with a self-titled record that had two well-known names behind the desk — Destruction's Schmier and V.O. Pulver, once of Poltergeist — which the Japanese label says is part of what got them noticed. Sonia Anubis, now the leader of Cobra Spell, played in that early line-up. Four albums followed: Hexenhammer in 2018, then Dance with the Devil, The Witch of the North and The Dark Tower in 2020, 2021 and 2023. "The Spell Of The Skull" was the advance single; the lyric video for "Mirror, Mirror" went up alongside the two-track maxi-single that carried it on 12-inch vinyl. A European run called the Witches And Kings Tour, with Hammer King supporting, was booked for January 2026.
