Brainstorm's Plague Of Rats reached Japan through Ward Records on 30 January 2026 (GQCS-91723, with translated lyrics and Japanese liner notes), eleven months after Reigning Phoenix Music released it on 28 February 2025. The German band signed with that label, and Ward says some songs bring back the Indian spiritual themes of 2003's Soul Temptation and that there is not a ballad on it. Formed in 1989, the band debuted with 1997's Hungry; the line-up credited on the videos is Andy B. Franck on vocals, Torsten Ihlenfeld and Milan Loncaric on guitars, Jim Ramses on bass and Dieter Bernert on drums, and the same credits name the band and Seeb Levermann for recording and mixing at Greenman Studios and Sebastian Levermann for mastering. Elina Siirala and Leaves' Eyes join "Your Soul That Lingers In Me", Alex Krull, Leaves' Eyes and Atrocity appear on "From Hell", and videos have been released for "Garuda (Eater Of Snakes)", "Beyond Enemy Lines", "The Shepherd Girl" and "Crawling".
