Limited Edition collects the only recordings Blue Max ever made, and P-Vine returned them to CD in Japan on 22 January 2025 as PCD-27087. The trio came from Amherst, in Nova Scotia at the eastern end of Canada, and formed in 1973 when all three were barely into their teens: George Douglas on drums, Andrew Douglas on bass and vocals, Robert Graves on guitar and lead vocals. They went into a studio in the winter of 1976 and pressed a thousand copies for promotion, and that is the record. A high voice over fuzzed guitar, with the bass moving underneath, puts them near Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull; the heavier, garage end of American hard rock, Blue Cheer and Sir Lord Baltimore, is audible too. The band kept playing locally but never signed, and broke up in 1980; reissues in the 2000s brought the album back into view. This first-press limited edition comes in a mini-LP sleeve with a commentary booklet and two songs the original pressing did not carry.
