Reaper Entertainment released Cold Flare Eternal on 5 September 2025, and Ward Records issued the Japanese CD the same day as GQCS-91653, ten tracks in about 39 minutes. Tuomas Saukkonen started Before the Dawn as a solo project in Finland in 1999, parked it in 2013 when he founded Wolfheart, restarted it in 2021 and broke an eleven-year gap with Stormbringers in 2023. He calls this the heaviest record the band has made, according to the Japanese label, which also credits Jacob Hansen with the mix and master. The line-up is Saukkonen on guitar, Paavo Laapotti on vocals, Juho Räihä on guitar and Pyry Hanski on bass. Reaper's channel has videos for "As Above, So Below", "Fatal Design", "Stellar Effect", "Shock Wave" and "Stronghold"; Winter Notes Production made the one for "Fatal Design". A European tour shared with Wolfheart was booked for the autumn of 2025.
