Columbus is an album by Barque of Dante, the Chinese band formed in 2004 in Mianyang, Sichuan around the guitarist and singer Xie. They play heroic power metal built on flowing lead guitar and strong melody, with a technical, progressive streak running through it, and had three albums, two EPs and five singles behind them before this one. Aquiles Priester drums on six songs and Rob Lundgren, once a member, worked on the lyrics throughout. The album appeared digitally on 29 December 2023; Red Rivet Records released the Japanese CD on 31 July 2024 as a pressing of 300 copies, RRR-39, adding the instrumental "Dead Steel" as a bonus track to mark the physical release — eleven tracks in all.
