Dark Science is the second album by Baltavar, a groove thrash metal band formed in Bulgaria in 2018 whose name is meant to evoke the pride and power of Bulgarian royalty. They started out playing covers, gradually began writing their own material and recorded their debut, Nuclear People, at Renewsound with Jivko Daskalov producing — a record that went back to the heavy metal of the early days. Shumen Rock Fest and HMC Festival in Bulgaria both went well for them, and they started work on this one soon after: dark death metal with groove in it and a good deal of older thrash. A worldwide deal with Wormholedeath Records in the autumn of 2022 is what brought it out. WormHoleDeath Japan released the Japanese-packaged import on 31 October 2023 as BITX-1278, after the original of 3 March. Twelve tracks, about fifty minutes.
