LINER NOTES
MY WAY gathers five tracks by ASTERISM, a three-piece heavy metal band from Kyushu, on a CD that SME Records releases on 2 December 2026 as SECL-3375. The title song is the ending theme of the television anime Reborn as a Space Mercenary (Tokyo MX, from 4 October 2026), with a digital release dated the same day; HAL-CA wrote the lyrics, the band the music and arrangement. Two tracks were already out digitally. "Metal Gandhara", made with the Bangalore fusion group Pineapple Express, was the band's first collaboration and came out on 27 December 2024; its video, shot in Bangalore, followed on 20 January 2025. "GYUTTO!!" pairs them with the former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman, whom HAL-CA came to know on the programme ROCK FUJIYAMA; it was unveiled as a surprise at Guitar Monsters Japan vol.2 in Tokyo on 8 March 2025 and released on 30 April 2025, when their THE FIRST TAKE performance also premiered. The other new song, "What's my life?", was arranged and produced by MEG (MEGMETAL), and an instrumental of MY WAY ends the disc. First pressings come in a paper sleeve with a wide cap sticker showing the anime's hero and three heroines before a spaceship; after that, the regular specification ships. HAL-CA (guitar and vocals), MIYU (bass) and MIO (drums) met at a music contest in 2014 and formed the band in their early teens.
