Gods of Metal (Year of the Dragon) is the second album by All For Metal, the German and Italian collective formed in 2022. They made their album debut with Legends in 2023 and built an audience across Europe with power metal in the Manowar mould; this record is their first for Reigning Phoenix Music. Japanese myth and culture matter to the band — the subtitle comes from the year of the dragon and "The Way of the Samurai" is one of the songs — and Tim Hansen of Induction and Laura Guldemond of Burning Witches guest on "Valkyries in the Sky". The songs are written to be sung along to, with melody well forward, and the Japanese edition adds a cover of the Scorpions' "Rock You Like a Hurricane" — thirteen tracks, about 45 minutes. It came out on 23 August 2024, with Ward Records issuing the Japanese edition, GQCS-91504, the same day.
