Alcatrazz's Prior Convictions came out through BraveWords Records on 7 November 2025 (BWRLCD016): new recordings of nine songs from the band's 1980s catalogue, sung by Giles Lavery, and two new songs, "Stand And Wait Your Turn" and "Transylvanian Requiem", eleven tracks in about 48 minutes.

Alcatrazz's Prior Convictions came out through BraveWords Records on 7 November 2025 (BWRLCD016): new recordings of nine songs from the band's 1980s catalogue, sung by Giles Lavery, and two new songs, "Stand And Wait Your Turn" and "Transylvanian Requiem", eleven tracks in about 48 minutes. BraveWords recounts how keyboardist Jimmy Waldo and bassist Gary Shea started Alcatrazz in Los Angeles in 1983 with singer Graham Bonnet, and how Yngwie Malmsteen played guitar on that year's debut No Parole From Rock N Roll and Steve Vai on Disturbing The Peace in 1985. The current line-up has Lavery, a producer and songwriter who had collaborated with the band since 2017, alongside Waldo, Shea, drummer Mark Benquechea and guitarist Joe Stump, whom the label counts as the longest-serving guitarist the band has had. Lavery says the release shows how Alcatrazz sound in 2025 and leads into the next original studio album, which the band is writing and recording now. A music video for "Stand And Wait Your Turn" is on BraveWords Records' YouTube channel, while "Jet To Jet" and "Hiroshima Mon Amour" went up on the band's own channel as audio.
