Aerosmith's self-titled debut, released in the US on 5 January 1973, gets a Legendary Edition for which Steven Tyler and Joe Perry remixed the original tapes and recordings with producers Zakk Cervini and Steve Berkowitz, arriving at a new 2024 mix. The three-disc Legendary Expanded Edition pairs the remastered original album with that mix and adds a live set from Paul's Mall in Boston on 20 March 1973, soon after the record came out, previously unreleased studio material and a 16-page booklet of unseen photos; the single-disc Legendary Edition carries the 2024 mix with a 12-page photo booklet. Universal Music's Japanese SHM-CDs of both, UICY-80718 (limited, three discs) and UICY-16398 (standard), came out on 20 March 2026, the date the band announced for the collection, with liner notes, lyrics and translations. A release trailer has been posted, as has a lyric video for "Dream On" made by Yes Please Productions directors Lucy Dawkins and Tom Readdy.
