Indigo, out on November 6, is the first studio album in 12 years — with songs John Wetton left
According to ASIA's official site, Indigo comes out on November 6 on Frontiers Music. It is the band's first studio album since Gravitas in 2014. Geoff Downes says the writing began in 2015 as a collaboration with John Wetton, and stopped when John Wetton became seriously ill and died before it could be completed.
Geoff Downes rebuilt the band after the response to the 2023 tribute concert for John Wetton, bringing in Virgil Donati and John Mitchell, who had both worked extensively with John Wetton, and a new singer and bassist, Harry Whitley. After tours in 2024 and 2025, the album was recorded throughout 2025, with John Mitchell mixing and mastering it.
Among its songs, "Tattoo Indigo" Parts 2 and 3 and "Chesapeake Bay" are among the last John Wetton wrote. Founding guitarist Steve Howe plays acoustic guitar on "Chesapeake Bay", and DREAM THEATER's Mike Portnoy appears on the bonus track "Tattoo Indigo (Part 3)". The Japanese edition (Ward Records, GQCS-91792) comes with translated liner notes and lyrics, and a Japan-only bonus track, "Chesapeake Bay (feat. John Mitchell)".
Just over a year after ASIA IN ASIA — and on Cruise to the Edge in April
According to Ward Records, ASIA toured the US, Japan and Europe in 2024 and 2025. In February 2026 Japan dates were booked again, as ASIA IN ASIA, a set from their first Japanese tour in 1983: Billboard Live OSAKA on February 3 and 4, Billboard Live YOKOHAMA on February 6 and Billboard Live TOKYO on February 8 and 9. Billboard Live's announcement this time says ASIA are coming to Japan again.
According to the band's official site, after the Japan dates ASIA play Cruise to the Edge, from April 2 to 8, 2027.
